Growing Community Resilience Through Food

Our food and agriculture system is facing pressurefrom ongoing, major world disruptions to climate shifts, to policy changes. But these challenges also open the door to change. With bold action and community support, farmers, food businesses, and local food economies can not only adapt—they can lead the way forward.

That’s why we launched the Resilience Fund—a new initiative:

Bridging Gaps by keeping essential programs and food businesses running when public funding is uncertain and sustaining efforts that put healthy food on tables and support local farmers.

Investing in Innovation by fueling small-scale investments that improve food logistics, expand farm-to-market connections, and strengthen how we measure local food’s impact.

Powering Systems Change by supporting policy work and grassroots partnerships that improve how resources flow and help communities shape stronger, more connected food systems.

This is more than a fund—it’s a call to action. Explore stories from the field, hear why this moment matters from our CEO, and join us at special events to gather, learn, and lead together.

With your partnership, we can grow a food system that nourishes communities, strengthens local economies, and supports those who feed us all.

MEET NATASHA & JESSE

For over 15 years, Fair Food Network has built and grown our Double Up Food Bucks program in Michigan and supported its expansion to 25 states.

Double Up provides a dollar-for-dollar match on SNAP dollars spent on fresh fruits and vegetables — helping families bring home healthier food, boosting income for farmers, and keeping dollars circulating in local economies.

Watch the stories of Natasha and Jesse, two parents who use the SNAP and Double Up to bring home more fruits and vegetables for their families. Every year, Double Up helps an estimated 188,000 households in Michigan using SNAP. Learn more.
